At Chirindo Foundation, our mission is to ensure each and every child in rural Southern Africa has access to basic and secondary education by offering scholarships, clean water, food, and basic technology.
School Fees and Supplies
In many rural communities in Southern Africa, thousands of children do not have access to basic primary and secondary school education for financial reasons. Chirindo Foundation provides school fees to students in financial need including orphans and those raised by grandparents who can’t afford to pay for school.
Clean Water Wells
Most primary and secondary schools in rural Southern Africa do not have clean drinking water. We collaborate with local partners on the ground to built clean water wells at schools.
Food for Students
Children in rural Southern Africa walk for miles to school on an empty stomach or on a single meal daily. Schools rely on NGOs to provide food such as porridge at primary schools for students. Chirindo Foundation works with local schools to provide food for students.
Basic Technology
Most schools and homes in rural Southern Africa do not have electricity. Students rely on paraffin lamps or firelight to read and do homework at night. Chirindo Foundation provides solar lamps, and reading tablets for reading in areas where students do not have access to electricity.
